Cadent Gas – Kirkby-in-Ashfield

Project Background

Cadent Gas, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, required a full electrical refurbishment across its operational depot in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Real Electrical Solutions (R.E.S) were selected to deliver a comprehensive electrical installation and safety system upgrade covering the site’s staff canteen, office complex, and materials warehouse. The project focused on improving electrical safety, modernising infrastructure, and enhancing energy efficiency across the facility.

Services Provided

R.E.S provided a complete commercial and industrial electrical installation package, including:

  • Full rewiring of the canteen, office, and warehouse areas.
  • LED lighting installation with motion sensors for energy efficiency.
  • Emergency lighting systems throughout the warehouse and office areas. 
  • Fire alarm system design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Power and data cabling infrastructure to support new office layouts. 
  • Distribution board upgrades for safe load balancing. 
  • Full EICR testing and certification to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022.
  • Integration of new systems into Cadent’s existing site management network.

Project Background

All works were completed in accordance with UK Building Regulations, BS 5839 (Fire Detection and Alarm Systems), and BS 5266 (Emergency Lighting Systems).
